How to delete a copyrighted song on YouTube?
The ‘Delete Song’ tool, which is in beta, was previously not working as accurately on YouTube. For this reason, the company has added a new AI-powered algorithm for more accurate copyrighted content detection and removal. With the new update, creators will be presented with two options when they click ‘delete song’.
Delete Song or Mute All Audio. On the YouTube copyright summary page, select Select Action > Delete Song and in the section with the copyrighted song, you can choose either ‘Delete Song’ or ‘Silence all sounds’.

If they choose the mute option, all sounds will be muted, but only in the copyrighted songs section. However, the ‘Delete Song’ option will only remove the song. The voiceover and other sounds will be preserved.
If you are shortening the video manually, you need to make sure that you remove all the copyrighted content. This is also clearly stated on the support page. The description mentions that if your video still contains copyrighted content, creators will not be able to monetize their work.
