YouTube is introducing a new feature for TV users, who hold a significant share. According to a post made by the company on Reddit, YouTube TV will now offer videos with the “1080p Enhanced” feature. YouTube described the new option as “Image quality is much better than normal 1080p60.” The feature will be available on 4K-compatible devices.
The announcement reads:
We are introducing the 1080p Enhanced option for YouTube TV and Primetime Channels subscribers. This option will be available on updated 4K-compatible streaming devices and will deliver our highest video quality. Viewers can go to video quality settings at any time to update their preferred setting. To access 1080p Enhanced and ensure the best viewing experience, we recommend upgrading to a 4K-compatible streaming device.
