Google has officially announced a new update to the YouTube app for smart TVs and game consoles. The features offered will make consuming content more enjoyable. This development has pleased users and content producers.
YouTube TV application gains new features
With the new organisation, YouTube is adding several new sections to the home screen. Users will be able to quickly return to their previous searches through the ‘Continue your search’ section, which shows their three most recent searches.

Users who listen to music will be able to quickly access their favourite tracks under the ‘Listen again’ section. In addition, the ‘Live performances, remixes and covers’ section with different versions of favourite songs will be added to the main screen.
Podcasts will also be moved to a new special tab, making them more accessible. Another important change is the separation of Shorts videos from long videos. Shorts videos are now listed in a separate format in the ‘What video is next’ and ‘Subscriptions’ tab.
Improvements to the viewing experience include the ability to loop all video content, not just playlists. Users will be able to repeat the content they watch continuously by activating the Loop option from the Playback Settings menu.
A ‘Device Type’ card has also been added to the YouTube Studio Analytics panel. Thanks to this card, content producers will be able to view viewing times separately according to four different device types: mobile, computer, TV and tablet.
