The world’s largest video-sharing platform has made a controversial decision. YouTube Palestine videos and accounts belonging to three prominent human rights organizations have been quietly blocked.
Why were the YouTube Palestine videos deleted?
The platform stated that this decision was motivated by sanctions imposed by the US State Department. A Google spokesperson confirmed the deletion, stating that the company is obligated to comply with applicable trade laws.

Among the accounts blocked are long-established organizations such as Al-Haq and the Palestinian Center for Human Rights. These organizations have been producing content documenting Israeli violations in the region for years. In total, it is estimated that more than 700 videos have been deleted.
The deleted videos include investigation files into the death of journalist Shireen Abu Akleh and footage that could constitute war crimes. Human rights advocates warn that this could lead to the destruction of vital digital evidence.
So, do you think this policy on YouTube’s Palestine videos is appropriate? Share your thoughts with us in the comments!
