While the device passes the bend test successfully, the rear glass is shattered due to finger pressure, raising questions in people’s minds.
One of the main reasons for this issue is the transition to titanium frames, which almost eliminates the phone’s flexing ability. Titanium is about 3-4 times stronger than stainless steel, making it difficult to bend. This naturally restricts the flexibility of the rear glass, causing it to crack or shatter with even minor impacts. In previous models, the situation was somewhat different. Bend tests showed that the stainless steel frame flexed to some extent, absorbing the force, and as a result, the rear glass didn’t sustain any structural damage.
