Microsoft is preparing to complete the Windows 10 update process. In October 2025, the company will end official support and will only offer updates for Windows 11. However, a software tool will offer support for Windows 10 for another five years.

Update management tool 0patch has announced that it will continue to support Windows 10 after Microsoft ends its general support in 2025. This means that you will be able to receive Windows 10 security updates until 2030, even if it’s not official.
For those who don’t know, 0patch aims to be an alternative to Microsoft’s extended paid support. Its micro-update technique allows it to apply fixes to critical vulnerabilities without the need to reboot or install broken updates.

0patch aims to fix vulnerabilities for Windows 10 by 2030, even without Microsoft support. Accordingly, it says it will provide updates for vulnerabilities in Windows 10 after the October 2025 deadline.

Individual update subscriptions are available for $27, compared to Microsoft’s $61 annual fee. It’s worth noting that the company already provides updates for Windows 7 and Office, which are no longer supported by Microsoft.
