One of the successful players in the smartphone market, Samsung, continues its work on the Galaxy S25 series, which is set to be introduced early next year. The South Korean manufacturer frequently makes headlines, especially regarding the processor that will power the series, and could face significant issues if precautions are not taken in certain areas.

Snapdragon 8 Elite powering the Galaxy S25 is under scrutiny for overheating issues

The next-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, expected to be used in Samsung’s Galaxy S25 series, is gaining attention for overheating issues, even though it is quite powerful in terms of performance. Tests on devices like the Realme GT7 Pro have shown that the chipset tends to overheat during GPU tests, with the phone’s temperature reaching up to 46 degrees Celsius.

According to reports from platforms like Android Authority and Digital Trends, smartphones powered by this processor trigger overheating warnings during 3DMark tests, leading to performance throttling.

In fact, it’s been noted that the Realme GT7 Pro, one of the first smartphones featuring the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite, became practically unusable for anything other than making calls due to overheating. Even in balanced mode and when switched to power-saving mode, the device reportedly failed to complete GPU tests because of the heat.

However, this does not mean the Galaxy S25 series will experience the same issues. It’s known that the South Korean manufacturer uses a modified version of Qualcomm processors in its flagship models. Nevertheless, industry sources are warning that Samsung must address these overheating issues, regardless of the circumstances, for its upcoming smartphones.
