Google is bringing a significant innovation to the Android version of Chrome. With the update the company is working on, Android users will no longer have to manually enter verification codes (OTP) received via text messages. Chrome will automatically detect these codes and place them in the relevant field.
Google Chrome is bringing a new feature to Android
Currently, Android applications have the ability to automatically fill in codes received via SMS. However, this feature was not valid on websites accessed via Chrome until now. With the system that will be put into effect soon; when users encounter a two-step verification process on a website, the codes received via SMS will be processed directly by the browser and automatically entered.

The system, which will eliminate the need for users to switch to the SMS application and copy and paste the code or write it by memorization, will make the time spent on the mobile browser more efficient.
This innovation will significantly speed up two-step verification processes, which are frequently used especially for security purposes. Although verification via SMS is considered less secure compared to other solutions, it is still widely preferred due to its large user base.
The auto-fill feature is not currently active for all users. Google is gradually integrating this functionality into the Android version of Chrome. The company announced that the feature will be made more widely available in the coming weeks.
