WhatsApp is testing a new artificial intelligence feature that will allow users to access message content without wasting time in long chats. This new feature, discovered in the beta version and still in the development phase, automatically summarizes accumulated messages. The system, which can work in both one-on-one and group chats, is also supported by Meta AI.
WhatsApp introduces the expected artificial intelligence feature
The system tested in the application is activated with the “summarize messages” button. When the user taps this button, a short and meaningful summary of the content of unread messages is created. This summary makes it possible to quickly grasp the general flow of the conversation.

According to the information in the WhatsApp beta version where the feature was tested, the summarization process takes place entirely on the device. Thanks to a new security layer called “Private Processing”, message content is not sent to the cloud.
The new system is being developed with the aim of saving users time, especially when a large number of messages accumulate in crowded group chats. However, this AI support is not activated in chats where Advanced Chat Privacy is enabled.
This is not the only innovation Meta has kept during the testing process. Another AI feature called “Spelling Assistance” is also included in the trials. This system can edit the message that the user will write in terms of grammar and expression before it is sent.
Both features are still in the testing phase, and Meta has not shared any official release dates so far. So what do you think about these innovations? You can share your opinions with us in the comments section below.
