YouTube, the world’s most popular video-sharing platform, has officially announced new tools that will enable content creators to communicate more effectively with their communities. The update package, shared today, directly impacts live broadcasters. Broadcasters now have the ability to broadcast live in both landscape and portrait formats simultaneously.
The innovations YouTube announced are relevant to broadcasters and users.
With this new “cross-format broadcast” feature, the entire chat stream will be consolidated into a single window, regardless of the device or position they are watching from. The company also stated that it recognizes that users want more control over vertical broadcast layouts and that customizable vertical templates will be added to the system soon.

Long-awaited updates have also been implemented for the Community feature, which fosters social interaction on the platform. Responding to popular user demand, YouTube announced that it has now brought the Community feature to the desktop version. These updates aren’t limited to desktop use; the mobile experience has also been enhanced. Creators can now pin important posts to the top, filter posts, and share the link to the Community tab with their followers much more easily through the mobile app. This move aims to encourage the platform to be used not only for video but also as a social network.
In addition to these tools offered to content creators, the viewer experience in front of the TV hasn’t been forgotten. YouTube has updated its watch page for TVs, making the interface much simpler and more user-friendly. These improvements simplify the navigation system, and the Subscribe button has been placed in a much more prominent position on the screen. This will allow users consuming content on large screens to subscribe to their favorite channels without having to navigate complex menus and access the videos they’re looking for more quickly.
Finally, information was provided about the AI-powered feature planned to be the ultimate tool for content creators within YouTube Studio. Ask Studio, which supports users in the creative process, is currently available in English for creators in the United States, Canada, New Zealand, and India.
These comprehensive features the platform offers for both publishers and viewers demonstrate that the YouTube ecosystem is constantly expanding. What are your thoughts on these new features? Do you think the ability to broadcast vertically and horizontally at the same time will be practical for publishers? We welcome your comments.
