The brand, a major player in the Turkish electric car market, has radically changed its sales strategy. The Tesla Model Y ordering process is leaving the stock model behind and entering a new era where users can design their own vehicles.
A New Era in the Tesla Model Y Ordering Process
With the company’s official announcement, the sales system, which had been based on inventory (stock) listings since January 1, 2025, has ended. Instead, a “pre-order” system has been implemented, allowing users to completely configure their desired vehicle. This new era officially began at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, December 2.
Under the new system, users can create a design for their desired Model Y and then submit their pre-orders to join the queue. However, the brand has set some strict rules to ensure this process operates fairly and orderly. Here are some critical details to consider:
- One Active Request: Only one active request can be created at a time for each Turkish Republic Identification Number (TCKN) or Tax Identification Number (TIN). Registration procedures are also conducted using the information provided in the pre-order.
- Change Restriction: No changes to the vehicle design or identification information are permitted after the pre-order is submitted. If the user wishes to make a change, they must cancel their existing request, create a new one, and re-enter the queue.
- Order Conversion Process: An invitation is sent when a vehicle matching the user’s design becomes available for delivery within 45 days. The reservation must be completed within two days of receiving the invitation by making a credit card payment of 140,000 TL.
With the updated system, pricing and delivery schedules have been clarified. The starting price for the Model Y Premium Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive version is 3,392,640 TL. Vehicle deliveries for users who submit pre-orders for this model are scheduled for February 2026.
The new pricing and delivery dates were confirmed in a social media post from the brand’s European branch. You can view the relevant post below:
With this move, the brand has transitioned from selling whatever is in stock to a more traditional yet customizable structure, where customers will schedule production and delivery based on their personal preferences. This system will be particularly convenient for users who expect specific color and equipment combinations.
