Xiaomi is preparing to launch a new series of accessories. The most notable member of this series is a tracking device that will be a direct competitor to the Apple AirTag. According to leaked information, this device, to be called Xiaomi Tag, will be introduced alongside the company’s other new accessories, the Xiaomi Watch 5 or S5 smartwatch and Buds 6 wireless earbuds.
Xiaomi Tag is officially coming
According to information shared on Weibo by the Chinese leak source Repeater 002, this tracking device had previously appeared in various regulatory databases. Xiaomi is expected to introduce this new accessory series at the Xiaomi 17 Ultra launch event in China on December 26, 2025.

Specific technical details about the Xiaomi Tag have not yet been shared. However, the device is expected to have UWB (Ultra Wideband) support. UWB allows for more accurate and easier location determination when tracking devices are in close proximity.
It is also likely that the Xiaomi Tag will be part of the Google Find My Device Network. If this happens, Xiaomi’s tracking device will offer Android users offline tracking, a key feature that made Apple AirTag popular. This technology allows the device to transmit location information to its owner using the network of other nearby Android devices when it gets lost.
There are already other tracking devices on the market offering similar features, such as Chipolo Loop, Pebblebee, and Moto Tag. However, Xiaomi is generally known for its budget-friendly products.
In this context, launching Xiaomi Tag at a competitive and low price could give this new tracking device a significant advantage over its rivals. More details are expected to emerge as the launch date of the new accessory series approaches.
