DJI introduced its first cargo delivery drone, FlyCart 30 (FC30). FC30 is designed to carry loads over long distances; It features a four-rotor design with carbon fiber propellers. It was stated that it can carry up to 40 kg of cargo in a single flight.
DJI FlyCart 30 cargo drone features
Some key features of the FC30 include its ability to operate in temperatures as low as -20°C and winds up to 12m/s. The cargo drone has more than one usage style. One of them is that it can carry 30 kg of weight up to 16 km when equipped with double batteries.
In cold weather, its batteries are also heated to maintain its performance. DJI FlyCart 30 has an IP55 rating, thus providing water and dust resistance. Although DJI did not give figures, it stated that it could fly in light rain.
Safety was designed as a top priority in the development of the FC30. It uses onboard radar and vision systems for obstacle detection. It also includes a parachute emergency system in case it gets stuck or gets lost. The drone can also evaluate different flight routes before takeoff.
DJI stated that the FC30 has a 70-liter cargo compartment. He said it’s also been developed with configurable modes, including a cable winch system for objects that can’t land easily. Sensors will help balance loads during craning.
The FC30 will work with DJI DeliveryHub software to plan routes and fleet management. It will also support integration with third-party logistics systems. Price and on-sale date have not yet been announced, but it represents DJI’s entry into the cargo drone industry.
