In these days when countries are increasing their space efforts, Russia has taken an important step. Russia sent the Luna-25 spacecraft to the Moon earlier this month. Many people were expecting to receive good news from the spacecraft. However, according to emerging reports, an “abnormal situation” has been reported in the Russian Luna-25 spacecraft.
The Russian spacecraft faced an uncertain problem!
In recent years, there has been a significant competition in space exploration among countries. One of the countries participating in this competition is Russia. At the beginning of this month, Russia launched the Luna-25 spacecraft with the aim of sending it to the Moon. Positive news was expected from this step.
The emerging reports, however, showed the opposite situation. The country’s space agency, Roscosmos, made a statement a few days ago. In its statement, it mentioned that the spacecraft encountered an uncertain problem while attempting to enter orbit before landing.
Additionally, it was added that experts are analyzing the situation. In a telegram message, the space agency included the following words: “An abnormal situation occurred that did not allow the maneuver to be performed with the specified parameters during the operation.”
There is no information regarding whether this issue will prevent Luna-25 from landing or not. Previously, the spacecraft was planned to land on the southern pole of the Moon on Monday. Furthermore, alongside these developments, Luna-25 aims to land on the Moon before the Indian spacecraft.
Prior to this, the Russian space agency announced that the Luna-25 station captured the first photograph of the lunar surface. The image included the Zeeman crater located on the far side of the Moon’s southern pole. The coordinates of the center were noted to correspond to 75 degrees south latitude and 135 degrees west longitude.
