The latest news is all about two-way satellite connectivity technology. MediaTek announced that it launches a new satellite communication system for phone chipsets. Today, Bullitt Group launched the first phone, Cat S75, with MediaTek’s two-way satellite connectivity system. Cat S75 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 930
MediaTek’s NTN chip (Non-Terrestrial Networks) provides the new system for the new phone. Also, the Cat S75 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 930 Octa-Core 2.2GHz chipset. While the phone comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, its storage is expandable via a microSD card. Unfortunately, Bullitt’s phone runs Android 12 out of the box, but the company promises to release updates to Android 13 and 14.
On the display side, the rugged phone features a 6.58-inch FHD+ screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, and it is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. In addition, the device has a 50-megapixel rear, an 8-megapixel super-wide, and a 2-megapixel macro camera on the back while it features an 8-megapixel selfie camera on the front.
The most distinctive feature of the Cat S75 is its durability. The new device is waterproof and can survive down to 5m underwater for up to 35 minutes. It is also resistant to drop from up to 1.8m and it passed MIL-SPEC-810H testing for extreme temperatures for up to 24 hours. While you can wash the S75 with soap and water or use alcohol wipes, the Bullitt provides its Hygiene+ technology on the exterior of the phone.
The Cat S75 features a non-removable 5,000mAh battery with 15W wired and Qi wireless charging. While the device is now available for pre-order starting today, it is also available on select carriers and select retailers in the EMEA region. The new rugged device costs €600/£550 with a 3-month trial of the satellite messaging plan.
