Hyundai Motor Group has taken an important step in hybrid technologies focused on efficiency and performance. The company introduced its new generation hybrid powertrain system with a dual-motor structure to the public. This new system, which was first used in the renewed Palisade model, provides fuel savings of up to 45 percent.
Hyundai introduced its new generation hybrid system
At the heart of the new system is a special transmission integrated with two electric motors. One of these motors undertakes the vehicle’s initial movement, energy production and propulsion support tasks, while the other provides direct propulsion and performs the regenerative braking function.

The dual-motor structure provides a quieter ride, low vibration and smoother gear shifts compared to single-motor systems. The new hybrid power unit has been designed to be paired with different engines. This system, which can work with various engines from 100 horsepower to 300 horsepower, will first be offered with a 2.5-liter turbo engine.
This engine operates with a new cycle that increases in-cylinder fluidity and is optimized for hybrid compatibility. The improved pistons and fuel injection system provide a more efficient and powerful drive in situations requiring high torque.
The 2.5-liter hybrid unit in the renewed Palisade model produces 329 horsepower and 460 Nm of torque. These values offer 19 percent more power and 9 percent more torque than standard turbo engines of the same volume. The most striking improvement was the fuel consumption advantage of up to 45 percent.
It is stated that the new hybrid system will be used not only in the Hyundai brand but also in Kia models. So what do you think about this? You can share your opinions with us in the comments section below.
