Intel has confirmed that its next-gen Core Ultra 300 laptop chips, codenamed Panther Lake, will officially launch at CES 2026. The reveal is scheduled for January 5 at 15:00 PST, led by Jim Johnson, head of Intel’s Client Computing Group.
Intel Panther Lake to headline CES with Intel Core Ultra 300

The announcement marks the official debut of Panther Lake after months of scattered leaks and preview benchmarks. While Intel has already teased performance claims, key details like SKU names, clock speeds, and core configurations remain unknown.
That should change on January 5, when Intel’s dedicated CES event puts the Panther Lake lineup front and center.
GPU performance gains expected from Intel Core Ultra 300
Intel’s Panther Lake chips are rumored to feature significant improvements on the GPU side. Early benchmarks suggest a major leap over the previous generation, possibly outpacing Qualcomm’s Adreno X2 and AMD’s RDNA 3.5 integrated graphics found in Gorgon Point APUs.
The CPU side appears more conservative by comparison. Current results show only modest uplifts in multi-core performance—so don’t expect it to shake up the leaderboard just yet.
So far, the following devices have leaked with Panther Lake chips:
- Samsung Galaxy Book6 Pro
- Asus ROG Zephyrus G14
- GMKtec EVO-T2 (mini-PC)
Confusion still surrounds Panther Lake naming scheme
One point of concern among early observers is the naming convention Intel plans to use for Panther Lake. Even with Geekbench entries popping up, there’s been no official clarity on how these new chips will be segmented or branded beyond the Core Ultra 300 label.
This lack of transparency has created confusion for both industry watchers and potential buyers, but more SKUs should surface closer to launch.
CES 2026 could set the tone for Intel’s laptop push
Panther Lake is a critical release for Intel as it tries to regain ground in the high-performance laptop space. With Apple Silicon and AMD’s mobile APUs gaining traction, Intel’s next-gen graphics could be the main draw this cycle.
If the GPU performance lives up to early figures, Panther Lake might become a top pick for thin-and-light gaming laptops and creative workstations.
All eyes on Intel January 5
Intel has a lot to prove, and CES 2026 will be its stage. Whether Core Ultra 300 can deliver on both graphics and efficiency will define how Panther Lake fits into the increasingly competitive laptop market.
