OPPO, known for its affordable and frequently featured phones on price-performance lists, is now counting down the days for its new device, the X8. A video from the company revealed that the Find X8 family will feature a camera button similar to the iPhone 16.
OPPO follows in the footsteps of the iPhone 16 with the Find X8 series
OPPO is preparing to bring an important feature from the iPhone 16 series to Android with the Find X8 series. The Find X8 family will have a special pressure-sensitive camera button, just like the iPhone 16. OPPO product manager Zhou Yibao confirmed this feature in a video he published on China’s social media platform.
This button, which will work like the Camera Control button on the iPhone 16; allows you to open the camera app with a double tap and take a photo with a light press. It also supports controls such as zooming in and out.
A point particularly emphasized in the video was that the camera button works flawlessly underwater. This feature seems to solve one of the biggest challenges of underwater photography with touchscreen phones.
Zhou said that adding a special camera button could be an alternative to touch. He pointed out that touchscreens do not respond when wet and talked about the importance of the physical button. This camera button enables controls such as zooming underwater.
He also stated that more than 95 percent of users are not aware that the volume buttons can also launch the camera app and take photos. However, the volume buttons do not offer a zoom feature like the special camera button. Accordingly, the Find X8 Pro is expected to be a phone that draws attention with its camera features.
