Microsoft has finally come up with a solution to the Start menu problem that Windows 10 users have been experiencing for months. The bug that emerged after the KB5052077 update and caused the jump lists of applications to stop working has been fixed with a newly released patch.
Microsoft fixed the bug in the Start menu
The KB5052077 update, released in February, had started to prevent the opening of jump lists in applications pinned to the Start menu and taskbar on systems using the 22H2 version of Windows 10.

Users reported that lists that allow you to open documents directly from the history, such as Word and Excel, were not working. After remaining silent for a long time, Microsoft acknowledged this problem last week and announced that it had fixed it.
According to the statement made by the company, the problem was caused by the new Account Control interface offered in the Start menu of Windows 10 being incompatible with some applications. This problem affected both Home and Pro versions.
Microsoft stopped distributing the faulty update in the last week of April. The necessary patch was sent to all Windows 10 devices that were simultaneously connected to the internet in the background. This patch is installed automatically and does not require any user intervention.
We can say that jump lists have an important place in the user experience of Windows. These lists, which can be accessed by right-clicking on applications located on the taskbar or Start menu, provide convenience for frequently used files and quick actions.
