Google is pushing NotebookLM further into global territory. The company has expanded NotebookLM’s Video Overviews feature to support 80 languages, opening the door for non-English speakers to learn through visual summaries in their own language. French, German, Spanish, Japanese, and dozens more are now included in the rollout.

When NotebookLM first introduced Video Overviews last month, the feature was limited to English. It allowed users to transform notes, PDFs, and even images into short video presentations. With this update, the same experience now reaches a global audience, letting learners engage with the material in their preferred language.

Google says the update isn’t just about accessibility, it’s about giving every user the same depth of insight, regardless of where they live or what language they use.

Alongside Video Overviews, Google is upgrading NotebookLM’s Audio Overviews. Originally, these were restricted to short summaries in non-English languages, while English users received full-length versions. That changes today.

Now, more detailed audio explanations are available in over 80 languages, with the option to switch back to shorter highlights if users only want the essentials.

For NotebookLM’s global audience, the upgrades are significant:

    • Video Overviews now cover 80 languages
    • Audio Overviews deliver full summaries beyond English
    • Users can still request shorter versions for quick study
    • Features apply to notes, PDFs, and images within NotebookLM

According to Google, these improvements begin rolling out immediately and will reach users worldwide within the next week.

Google signals that its AI learning tool isn’t just for English speakers but for a truly international classroom, as NotebookLM Video Overviews and richer audio summaries now span 80 languages.
