Although we’re getting closer to the Nothing’s launch event for Phone (2), the date is still unknown, the company just announced the event will be held in Summer 2023. The founder of Nothing, Carl Pei, shared some details about the upcoming version of the phone series, including chipset, camera improvements, and more. Nothing Phone (2) will be TWICE faster than Phone (1)
Carl Pei confirmed one of the key specs of the upcoming device after all rumors. The phone will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, which has 1x 3,19 GHz Cortex-X2 + 3x 2,75 GHz Cortex-A710 + 4x 2 GHz Cortex-A510, and Adreno 730 GPU. Thanks to the new chipset, the phone will be twice faster than its predecessor.
Compared to the Phone (1), the confirmed product will have a significant performance boost, up to 80% overall. In the previous device, the company used Snapdragon 778G+, and the new phone will have a beyond performance with significant improvements on Snapdragon 8 Series.
Additionally, Carl Pei announced on Twitter, the Nothing Phone (2) will have a next-level camera system. He says, “The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 features an 18-bit Image Signal Processor (ISP) capable of capturing over 4,000 times more camera data than the ISP used on the Phone (1). As a result, the Phone (2) camera offers advanced features like Raw HDR and 4K recording at 60 fps.”
Nothing already confirmed the launch date of the phone, but didn’t give a specific day yet. We know that the Phone (2) will launch in British Summer, which is between June and August.
