OnePlus had already confirmed that its new flagship phone, the OnePlus 15, would be unveiled in China in October. The OnePlus Ace 6, its sub-flagship phone powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, is also expected to debut at the same event. Now, the brand’s global wing has officially confirmed that the OnePlus 15’s global launch is also imminent. Here are the details.
OnePlus 15 Coming in New Color Options
OnePlus’ international operations have confirmed that the OnePlus 15 will have a special color variant called “Sand Storm,” inspired by desert landscapes. This version represents not only an aesthetic choice but also a technological innovation.

The Sand Storm color is produced using aerospace-grade Micro Arc Oxidation technology, which creates a ceramic layer on the midframe and camera module. Thanks to this ceramic coating, achieved through a high-voltage plasma process:
- The device’s mid-frame is 3.4 times stronger than a standard aluminum frame.
- It’s even 1.3 times stronger than a titanium mid-frame.

OnePlus states that despite this increased durability, the method is designed to reduce environmental impact. The Sandstorm edition also features a featherweight fiberglass back. This combination combines the cool feel of ceramic with a smooth grip, promising a user experience that’s both durable and stylish.
OnePlus has also officially certified the device’s performance. The OnePlus 15 will be powered by Qualcomm’s latest and most powerful chip, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC. This will make it one of the first smartphones in the global market to feature this new chip.
In addition to the new chipset, the OnePlus 15 will also feature the brand’s updated cooling system to deliver sustained high-speed performance during intensive tasks.
While the company’s Chinese arm has already released camera samples of the OnePlus 15, it hasn’t officially announced the device’s camera specifications yet. However, leaks claim that the OnePlus 15’s camera setup, powered by its own “DetailMax Engine” technology, will include the following features:
- A 50-megapixel main camera with OIS support.
- An ultra-wide-angle lens.
- A 50-megapixel Samsung JN5 periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom.
Considering that previous OnePlus flagships have been sold in our country, the OnePlus 15 may also arrive in our country after the global launch.
