The Tecno Phantom Ultimate G Fold is here to steal attention. Days before Samsung’s Unpacked event, Tecno has pulled back the curtain on its latest concept device, a tri-fold phone that dares to out-weird and out-fold its mainstream rivals.
Tecno Phantom Ultimate G Fold breaks cover early

Announced in a short teaser, the Tecno Phantom Ultimate G Fold is set for a full reveal in mid-July. The timing is no accident. Samsung is expected to unveil its first tri-fold device alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 7, and Tecno wants in on the headlines.
Thanks to leaked photos, we already have a good look. The G Fold name refers to its G-shaped hinge layout, folding inward in a stacked configuration. It’s Tecno’s second attempt at a tri-fold, and this version leans more toward practicality than flashy experimentation.
A Pixel-inspired look for Tecno’s foldable
Rather than mimic Samsung’s style, the Tecno Phantom Ultimate G Fold takes a design detour. With a matte silver frame, white rear panel, and horizontal camera bar, the phone closely resembles the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. It’s subtle, premium, and much less angular than earlier foldables.
Tecno Phantom Ultimate G Fold still packs a thickness
Foldables have gotten thinner, but this concept isn’t quite there yet. While each section looks reasonably slim, the tri-fold configuration stacks them together, likely pushing the folded thickness near 13mm. It’s a throwback in form, even if it’s forward-thinking in function.
Here’s what sets the Phantom Ultimate G Fold apart:
- G-shaped hinge that folds inward
- Glass outer display with internal screen protection
- Pixel-like design with horizontal camera bar
- Still a concept, not a confirmed retail product
Tri-fold future hinges on real launches
Tecno Phantom Ultimate G Fold might look polished, but it remains a concept device for now. Huawei is still the only company to ship a tri-fold, though Samsung is expected to tease its own soon. Tecno’s vision is bold, but until it hits real shelves, the tri-fold crown stays up for grabs.
