In the first month of 2025, there was a great movement in the electric vehicle market. Electric vehicle sales increased by 71% compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching a total of 6,071 units. Electric vehicles accounted for 11% of the total car market in January 2025.
Togg T10X at the top of electric car sales
Domestically produced Togg T10X remained the leader in January with sales of 1,570 units. Domestic production advantage, tax incentives and strong marketing strategies enabled Togg to further increase its market share. These results show that Togg has gained a solid place in the electric vehicle market.

BYD Atto 3 ranked second in the electric vehicle market in January with 494 units sold. The Chinese compact SUV model attracted the attention of consumers thanks to its affordable price policy and modern technological equipment.
In third place was KGM Torres EVX with 408 units sold. Torres EVX’s durability and large interior volume played an important role in users’ preference. These two models also show that global brands have managed to increase their influence in the Turkish market.
Volkswagen sold 234 units with its ID.4 model, which aims to reach a wide audience in the electric vehicle market. Supported by discount campaigns, ID.4 displayed a remarkable performance in its segment. The electric sedan model ID.7, on the other hand, was limited to 79 units.
Hyundai and Kia sold 190 units of Hyundai Ioniq 6 and 182 units of Kia EV3 in January. Especially Ioniq 6 attracts attention in the Turkish market thanks to its aerodynamic design and advanced electric engine. Kia EV3, on the other hand, was the favourite of buyers by offering high performance and economical use despite its compact dimensions.
Stellantis Group also entered the electric vehicle market with the E-3008 and Grandland Elektrik models. While E-3008 made a strong start to its segment with 118 sales, Grandland Elektrik reached a sales figure of 100 units.
Looking at the overall picture, it is seen that electric vehicles are increasingly preferred in the Turkish market thanks to their environmentalist features and advantages in usage costs. The leadership of Togg T10X shows how important a role domestic production can play in Turkey’s electric vehicle market. In addition, the presence of global brands in the market with various models reveals that competition is increasing rapidly and innovations will continue in this segment.
