One of the world’s largest gaming companies, Ubisoft, has decided to halt advertising on X (formerly known as Twitter). The details behind this decision are now unfolding.
Last year, the famous business magnate Elon Musk purchased Twitter for $44 billion, renaming it X. Recently, the platform seems to be facing challenging times, evidenced by numerous companies withdrawing their advertising. The latest to join this trend is the celebrated gaming company Ubisoft.
Ubisoft Stops Advertising on X (Twitter)!
Following recent events where Elon Musk, the CEO and CTO of X (Twitter), supported an anti-Semitic post, several globally recognized companies decided to cease their advertising activities on the platform.
This list of companies includes technology giants like Apple and IBM, as well as entertainment firms such as Disney, Paramount, and Warner Bros. Ubisoft, a major player in game development, has now also halted its advertising on X.
While Ubisoft has not explicitly stated the reason for stopping its advertising on X (Twitter), it’s speculated that, like Apple, the decision stems from Elon Musk’s support of the anti-Semitic post. Ubisoft is the first gaming publisher to take this action.
Ubisoft had been advertising popular game series like Assassin’s Creed on X (Twitter). Although the exact amount of investment in these advertisements is not disclosed, it is believed to be substantial, given the company’s significant focus on social media.
