Microsoft’s new operating system update, Windows 11 24H2, brings new features and performance improvements to its users. However, it has recently disappointed some users due to an incompatibility issue. In particular, it crashed because of an audio software used by broadcasters and musicians.
Windows 11 24H2 gives a blue screen on these computers
Windows 11 update 24H2 has been blocked by Microsoft because it causes problems on PCs running popular audio software Voicemeeter. Although version 24H2 includes many important features, it causes a blue screen error on systems running Voicemeeter.
The problem occurs when the Voicemeeter driver 24H2 interacts with Windows 11’s memory manager after it has been installed. A memory management error causes the system to crash and blue screen. Microsoft said it would fix the update to prevent users from being affected by the issue.
For this reason, Windows Update will not open the 24H2 update for download on PCs with Voicemeeter installed. Microsoft also does not recommend installing the update through methods such as Update Assistant or the Media Creation Tool.
To unblock it, Voicemeeter must be removed from the system. After uninstallation, 24 computers can be unblocked and the update can continue. Alternatively, a Voicemeeter update is expected to be released by VB-Audio.
Microsoft is also struggling with other issues with the 24H2 update. The update has been suspended for some Asus computers and causes freezes when using the camera in some applications.
