Famous rapper 50 Cent’s social media accounts were the target of a crypto scam last Friday. Scammers made a huge amount of money by fooling 50 Cent’s millions of followers. Let’s take a look at the details of the incident together.
50 Cent’s social media accounts hacked
50 Cent, along with his millions of social media followers, has fallen victim to a massive crypto scam. Scammers hijacked 50 Cent’s X (formerly Twitter) account and website Thisis50.com to promote a fake memecoin called GUNIT. This caused an outcry on the famous rapper’s social media platforms.
At first, 50 Cent claimed in a post on his Instagram account that the scammers made 300 million dollars in 30 minutes. However, this amount was later updated to 3 million dollars.
50 Cent used the following statements in his post on Instagram: “Twitter and Thisis50.com have been hacked, I have nothing to do with this crypto. Twitter managed to get my account back quickly. The people who did this made 3 million dollars in 30 minutes.”
The hacking of 50 Cent’s accounts has once again demonstrated how important it is to ensure security on social media. What do you think? Please don’t forget to share your thoughts on this issue with us in the comments section below.
