Market analysts believe that the Huawei Mate 70 series has significant potential to reverse the sales trajectory of the iPhone 16 family. Here are the details:
Huawei Mate 70 Could Surpass iPhone 16 in China
A report by The Wall Street Journal highlights that this marks one of the biggest “challenges” for Apple in its second-largest market. The report emphasizes that Chinese consumers genuinely want to purchase Huawei smartphones.
Additionally, with the year-end sales season being the most crucial period, the 11/11 shopping promotion has already shown a decline in interest in the iPhone 16 series. This trend benefits not just Huawei but also other Chinese brands like Xiaomi, OPPO, and Honor.
The WSJ notes that Huawei is making a slow yet steady “leap” in the semiconductor segment. The Kirin 9100 chip used in the Mate 70 series is said to be produced using a 6 nm or 5 nm process. Moreover, Huawei is reportedly taking a more “discreet” approach to its launches amidst ongoing U.S. sanctions.
Bryan Ma, Vice President of IDC, commented:
“The Huawei Mate 70 will continue to put more pressure on Apple in China. While Kirin chips still lag behind A-series processors in terms of energy efficiency, this difference might not matter much to users as long as they can get through the day without worrying about recharging their phones.”
