Activision-Blizzard Entertainment has started sending PC Game Pass codes to some gamers. The studio is working with Microsoft to expand its subscription service, fueling speculation after rumors of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3.
Blizzard is giving away a free 1-week Game Pass
According to posts on Reddit, Blizzard has started sending out 1-month trial codes for Game Pass. These codes, which will work on new accounts that have not previously subscribed to Game Pass, aim to attract users to the subscription service. The trial codes will expire on July 24.
It is possible to say that the July 24 date is actually surprising. While the new season of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will be announced, it is claimed that it will come to Game Pass with this season. So Blizzard might want to draw attention to the July 24 date.
Users can expect new Activision titles as well as classic Blizzard titles to join the subscription service. Remastered titles such as World of Warcraft, Diablo 2, Diablo 3, StarCraft 1 and 2 are also expected to be revitalized with PC Game Pass.
In addition, the Diablo 4 expansion Vessel of Hatred is expected to be released later this year. The game, which is already available on Game Pass, could see an increase in player numbers with this expansion.
Microsoft will increase Game Pass subscription prices in the coming months. With the increase, major Activision-Blizzard games are expected to come to the library.
When Game Pass was first introduced to players, it was a very simple subscription system to understand and use. However, over time, with the addition of 4-5 different tier subscription systems with different functions, the situation has become more and more complicated for gamers as well as those far from the industry.
