AMD announced its first quarter 2025 financial results. The company broke a record by generating $7.44 billion in revenue in a single quarter for the first time in its history. We can say that AMD, which achieved a 36 percent increase in revenue on an annual basis, owes this growth to the strong performance of high-end processors, data center solutions and artificial intelligence accelerators.
AMD achieved the highest quarterly revenue in its history
Net profit increased by 476 percent compared to the same period last year, reaching $709 million. The company’s client and gaming division closed the quarter with $2.9 billion in revenue. The largest contribution to this revenue item was made by high-end products such as the Ryzen 9000 X3D for desktops and the Ryzen AI 300 series for laptops.

On the other hand, the gaming segment experienced a 30 percent decrease in revenue. The main reason for this decline was the decrease in sales of chips developed by AMD for Xbox and PlayStation consoles. The company seems quite hopeful about the sales performance of its Radeon RX 9070 graphics cards with RDNA 4 architecture for the desktop market.
The data center division brought in $3.7 billion in revenue, up 57 percent compared to the same quarter last year. The growth in this segment was supported by the demand for 5th generation EPYC server processors, as well as the increase in sales of Instinct MI300 series AI accelerators.
However, AMD states that the new tariffs that will come into effect in the US in 2025 could have a negative impact of approximately $1.5 billion on its sales. So what do you think about this? You can share your views with us in the comments section below.
