Apple has faced criticism for delays in some features it promised in the past. In this context, the company pulled its iPhone 16 ad released in September 2024. But why? Here are the details!
Apple Pulls iPhone 16 Ad Due to Siri’s Delay
Apple pulled its iPhone 16 ad after deciding to delay the personalized version of Siri. The ad, featuring Bella Ramsey from The Last of Us, focused on the personalized Siri features.

It's now March 2025 and they just delayed the feature until sometime within the next year.

In the ad, Bella Ramsey notices someone familiar approaching but can’t quite remember their name. She quickly pulls out her iPhone and asks Siri for the name of the person she had met a few months ago at a place called Cafe Grenel. Just as promised, Apple’s personalized Siri swiftly searches critical apps like the calendar, messages, and email, revealing that the person’s name is Zac Wingate.
Unfortunately, Apple later stated that developing such features, which rely on data within the device, was taking longer than expected. As a result, the more personalized version of Siri was delayed until next year. Shortly after, the ad featuring Bella Ramsey was taken down.
In Apple’s statement about the delay of Siri’s advanced version, they said:
“Siri helps our users find what they need and get things done quickly. Just in the last six months, we’ve made Siri more conversational, added new features like type and product knowledge, and integrated ChatGPT. We’re also working on a more personalized Siri, giving it more awareness of your personal context and enabling it to take actions on your behalf within and between apps. It will take longer than we originally anticipated to deliver these features, and we expect to roll them out next year.”
