BMW has achieved significant success in the electric vehicle market by leaving its competitors behind in 2024. The brand’s “i” series electric vehicle models have reached over 368 thousand sales worldwide. This result shows that BMW has achieved a 12 percent annual growth in electric vehicle sales. Electric vehicles account for approximately one-fifth of the brand’s total sales.

When compared to the combined sales of Mercedes-Benz and Audi, BMW’s superiority becomes even more apparent. While Mercedes’ EQ series will sell 185 thousand units in 2024, this figure represents a 23 percent decrease compared to the previous year.

Audi closed the year with 164 thousand electric vehicle sales, a 7.8 percent decrease compared to the previous year. This data revealed that BMW has sold more electric vehicles than its two arch-rivals combined.
BMW’s success is based not only on automobile production, but also on a customer-focused strategy. The company stands out with its BMW iX and i4 models, which have achieved the highest satisfaction rates among electric vehicle owners in the US, according to J.D. Power’s 2025 EV User Experience Study.
BMW has also launched “BMW Genius” teams that provide detailed information to customers during the vehicle delivery process. These teams provide customers with comprehensive information on battery technology, charging infrastructure and vehicle usage.
This process makes drivers, especially those who are first-time electric vehicle owners, feel safer. What do you think about this? You can share your views with us in the comments section below.
