Xiaomi is completing preparations for its own new generation mobile processor, Xring. The company’s first full-fledged chipset, Xring, is expected to be introduced towards the end of May. The project, headed by former Qualcomm executive Qin Muyun, will strengthen Xiaomi’s independence in the mobile market.
Xiaomi to unveil its own Xring processor
The Xring processor is being developed to directly compete with manufacturers such as Qualcomm and MediaTek. Instead of 3nm technology, TSMC’s 4nm N4P was preferred as the production process. With this decision, Xiaomi wants to avoid the sanctions that Huawei has experienced in the past.

On the technical feature side, Xring offers an eight-core structure. The main performance core is the Cortex-X925 operating at 3.2GHz. This is accompanied by three 2.6GHz Cortex-A725 and four 2.0GHz Cortex-A520 cores.
On the graphics unit side, the Imagination IMG DXT72 GPU operating at a frequency of 1.3GHz is used. With this ambitious hardware, it is said that the performance level of Xring will be close to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor.
With this move, Xiaomi wants to become a leader in the global market by reducing its dependence on third-party manufacturers such as Qualcomm and MediaTek. More information about the new processor is expected to be shared at the introduction to be held in May.
