Twitter, one of the world’s most popular social media platforms, was sold to Elon Musk a few months ago, and Musk recently changed the platform’s name to “X.” As a result, the Twitter sign on the company’s headquarters building was removed and replaced with an X sign. However, due to complaints from neighbors, it was taken down.
The X sign on the Twitter building was removed!
Since being sold to Elon Musk, Twitter has undergone significant changes. From making the blue verification tick available for a fee to implementing various restrictions, many radical decisions have driven users crazy.
A few weeks ago, Elon Musk announced that the platform’s name would be changed to “X,” meaning “everything,” and this change was recently implemented. The logo on the website and mobile app was updated, and the name was also changed in the app stores.
In line with this change, the Twitter sign on the company’s main headquarters building was removed, and an X logo was placed at the top of the building. However, this move was not well-received by the neighbors. They took to social media to share their grievances, stating that the sign emitted too much light, making it difficult for them to sleep at night.
Following complaints from the neighbors to the San Francisco local government, the company management decided to remove the X sign from the top of the building, which had been driving local residents crazy. When images of the incident surfaced on the internet, it was evident that sandbags were used to support the sign in its place.
Later, it was revealed that no approval had been obtained for the installation of the sign. According to Patrick Hannan, a spokesperson for the Building Inspection Department, a permit was required to ensure that the changed sign was in harmony with the historical nature of the building.
The officials who came for inspection were denied access to conduct their checks. Moreover, Elon Musk had falsely claimed that the X sign was placed temporarily for an event.
Based on the recent developments, it seems that Elon Musk’s fascination with the X sign may bring him some trouble. What are your thoughts on this matter? Feel free to share your opinions in the comments section below.
