Samsung’s new flagship models are eagerly anticipated. Rumors circulated that the South Korean company would unveil an Edge model, a rival to the iPhone 17 Air, alongside its main, Pro, and Ultra models. Initial rumors about the Galaxy S26 Edge suggested that Samsung would take a significant step in this regard, significantly upgrading the battery from the 3,900mAh in the S25 Edge to 4,200mAh.
The Galaxy S26 Edge may come with a 4,400mAh battery
However, the latest information from renowned leakster Ice Universe pushes expectations even further. The S26 Edge will reportedly have a full 4,400mAh battery, while the iPhone 17 Air will only have a 2,900mAh battery.
The most surprising part of the leaks is the claim that despite this increase in battery capacity, the phone will be thinner. The S26 Edge is rumored to offer a slimmer profile than the already quite thin 5.8mm body of the S25 Edge, but how it will achieve this with a larger battery is a matter of considerable interest. This could indicate that Samsung is working on new battery technology or a more efficient internal design.
Beyond the battery and design, the Galaxy S26 Edge is expected to receive significant improvements in other areas. Rumors suggest the device will feature a new 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens. While a processor upgrade seems certain, it remains unclear how Samsung will address the regionally-acclaimed Exynos vs. Snapdragon dilemma with this model.
