A large-scale survey conducted in Germany has shown that Tesla’s position in Europe has been seriously shaken. In the survey, which included more than 100,000 people, 94% of the participants said they would never buy a Tesla again. These results are considered a new crisis signal for the company, which is losing blood in the European market.
German users declare war on Tesla
Tesla’s sales in Germany have recently experienced a major decline. While Tesla sales in Europe have almost halved in the first two months of 2024, this decline has reached 70% in Germany.

While the increasing competition in the electric vehicle market and the delay of the new Model Y are effective in this decline, Elon Musk’s statements regarding European politics have been cited as factors reducing interest in Tesla.
Musk’s support for the far-right AfD party in Germany in particular has drawn the ire of consumers in the country. In addition to his political stance, criticism of Tesla’s production and sales strategies has also caused customer confidence to decrease.
Only 3% of those who participated in the survey conducted by T-Online stated that they would consider buying a Tesla, while the vast majority stated that they would now stay away from the brand.
It is known that Tesla aims to regain momentum in the European market with the new Model Y it recently introduced. However, current data has shown that the company may not find much response to this expectation in Germany.
It is already a matter of curiosity what the long-term consequences of this sharp decline in the company’s sales trends will be. So what do you think about this issue? You can share your views with us in the comments section below.
