Three months after its launch, the Google Pixel 9 series is now officially supported by the popular third-party Android operating system LineageOS. Thanks to the support coming to Pixel 9, 9 Pro, 9 Pro XL and 9 Pro Fold models, the devices can be used in a more flexible and customizable way. Details in our news…
LineageOS is now available on the Google Pixel 9 series
The new version 22 of LineageOS comes based on Android 15, including the latest security patches and privacy improvements Google added with the QPR1 update. The most visually striking innovation is the new music player. There’s also a desktop mode for Pixel Tablet users, customizable charging limits and other performance improvements.
All Pixel 9 models powered by the Tensor G4 chip are now on LineageOS’ official support list. Among these devices are the following:
- Pixel 9 (tokay)
- Pixel 9 Pro (caiman)
- Pixel 9 Pro XL (komodo)
- Pixel 9 Pro Fold (comet)
What does LineageOS offer while Google support continues?
The Pixel 9 series will be supported by Google with official updates for six years. However, we can say that LineageOS appeals especially to modding enthusiasts who want to extend the life of their devices. This ROM keeps devices up to date by providing software updates even after the official support period ends.
LineageOS 22’s downloadable files for the Pixel 9 series have not yet been released, but are expected to be available in the coming days. Users can stay up to date with updates by following the download pages. What do you think about this? You can write your opinions in the comments section below…
