Honor has officially confirmed that its highly anticipated flagship series, the Magic8, will launch in the fourth quarter of 2025. The company describes its new phones as “AI-native” devices and aims to integrate AI features directly into everyday use. Here are the details.
AI-focused flagship
The announcement came via a social media post by Honor Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) Guo Rui. Rui stated that the Magic8 series will be “the most exciting flagship of the fourth quarter.” While no firm launch date has been announced yet, industry experts expect a mid-October launch, slightly earlier than last year’s Magic7 series.

As with previous generations, Honor is expected to release this series in phases. The standard Magic8 and Magic8 Pro models may arrive first, while the Magic8 Ultra and a possible Magic8 Mini are expected to be unveiled in early 2026.
Software will be a key talking point for the series. CEO James Li highlighted MagicOS 10, which includes a large language model (LLM) designed to automate background tasks. Some reports suggest the device may feature a dedicated hardware button to quickly access these AI features, but this has not yet been confirmed.
Leaked details also hint at major camera upgrades. A new “NoxGod” technology is reportedly capable of powering a 200-megapixel telephoto sensor. The addition of a direct Time-of-Flight (dToF) module is also rumored to improve both photography and augmented reality (AR) applications.
All of this, combined with Honor’s focus on thin and lightweight design, could make the Magic8 series stand out in the crowded flagship market. With the release date now clear, Honor is positioning the Magic8 series as a product differentiated by its AI and imaging technologies, rather than simply a hardware update.
