Huawei has announced its new generation portable SSD model developed for professional users. The model called Kunling eKitStor Shield 200 draws attention with both its high data transfer speed and physical durability.

The new SSD supports USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 connection over USB-C and thus offers a data transfer speed of up to 2000 MB/s. This speed provides a significant advantage especially for content creators and field workers who work with large files.
However, we can say that the real feature that stands out with the Shield 200 is its durability. The device comes with a metal body structure surrounded by a rubber case. The SSD, which has an IP67 certificate, is resistant to water and dust. It is also designed to withstand falls from a height of 3 meters and 2 tons of vehicle pressure.
Supporting portability with its weight, the Shield 200 weighs 145 grams without a case and 180 grams with the case. The device not only offers physical protection, but also features AES-XTS 256-bit encryption technology on the security side.
Compatible with Huawei’s eKitStor Toolkit software, the SSD also has features such as health monitoring, encrypted backup, and cloud synchronization. Offered with a five-year warranty, the Kunling eKitStor Shield 200 is available in two capacity options: 1 TB and 2 TB.
The 1 TB model comes with a price tag of $ 106, while the 2 TB model comes with a price tag of $ 192. In addition, it was stated that a 4 TB capacity version will be added to the product range soon.
