Apple will unveil the iPhone 16 family in the coming weeks. The smartphones, which are rumored to undergo a series of changes on the camera and design side, will not take big steps in technical specifications. According to the latest reports, the iPhone 17 Pro Max will break new ground in terms of RAM.
12GB RAM doping for iPhone 17 Pro Max
Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo expects the iPhone 16 models to be released this year to come with 8GB of RAM. Accordingly, the analyst believes that the iPhone 17 Pro Max, which will debut next year, will feature a larger RAM capacity.
The latest report published by Kuo claims that the iPhone 17 Pro Max will be the only model with 12GB RAM. iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 and the upcoming iPhone 17 Slim will come with 8GB RAM. It is thought that this year’s models will also have 8GB RAM.
It is estimated that the fourth generation iPhone SE, which will be released in early 2025, will also have 8GB RAM. The 8GB RAM of the new models is important for the Apple Intelligence artificial intelligence features that will be offered with iOS 18.
Today, iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models come with 8GB RAM. Accordingly, iPhone 14 and older Pro models used 6GB RAM.
Kuo said that the 8GB RAM in iPhone 16 models will support artificial intelligence features. However, he said that the 12GB that will be offered with the iPhone 17 Pro Max will open the door to more advanced AI functions.
