Apple is preparing to release the iPhone 17e model in the spring of 2025. According to information reported by the Korean-based The Elec, the iPhone 17e will be the second generation of Apple’s “e” series, which it positions in the entry-level segment. The new model is being developed with components currently used in order to reduce production costs.
The iPhone 17e will be released in the spring of 2025!
The iPhone 17e’s screen will be the same as the 6.1-inch OLED panel used in the iPhone 16e model. This panel was first used in the iPhone 14. It is stated that BOE and Samsung are involved in the supply of the panel, and LG Display may also be involved in the process.

The iPhone 16e model was launched in February 2025 with a starting price of $599 and came with features such as the A18 processor, Face ID, and USB-C port. It is reported that the iPhone 17e will be equipped with similar technical features.
The first information about the production phase of the device emerged in April 2025. In the leaks made at that time, it was stated that the iPhone 17e was approaching trial production and the release date was predicted to be May. Later, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo announced that the device would be officially released in the first half of 2025.
It has also become clear that Apple will not limit the “e” series to just two models. According to Ming-Chi Kuo’s evaluations, a third-generation iPhone 18e model is also coming. It is stated that this device will be introduced in the first half of 2027 together with the standard iPhone 18.
This information also reveals that Apple has switched to a new launch strategy. Accordingly, after introducing the Pro models in September every year, the company will launch the standard models and “e” versions in the spring. It is stated that this structure will be applied to the iPhone 18 series as well.
Apple’s splitting of iPhone launches into two throughout the year makes it possible to provide longer-term updates to the product line and to introduce new models at more frequent intervals. The launch of the iPhone 17e was recorded as the second step of this new strategy.
