One of the most prominent features of the PlayStation 5 Pro is the ability to play in enhanced resolution thanks to Sony’s artificial intelligence upscaling technology PSSR. It turns out that PSSR technology managed to outperform AMD FSR 3.1 in recent tests. Here are the details…
PSSR proved its superior capabilities once again
The comparison shows that PSSR outperforms AMD FSR 3.1 in games like Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, the PSSR outperforms AMD FSR 3.1. Here, the PS5 Pro manages to achieve better results in terms of visual detail and motion blur.
However, it’s important to note that it’s not possible to make a direct comparison between Windows and the console due to the differences in some of the technologies.
On the other hand, NVIDIA’s DLSS can increase the level of detail of objects. However, this increases aliasing and noise in some scenarios. Despite this, DLSS proves superior to PSSR in delivering sharper objects and scenes, and increasing resolution even for distant elements in the scene.
However, Sony’s PSSR technology still needs to be tested on games with lower native resolution, such as Alan Wake 2, which runs at 864p on PlayStation 5 but needs to be upscaled to 4K definition on PS5 Pro.
