Sandisk has introduced its new generation NVMe SSD, the WD_BLACK SN8100, based on PCIe Gen 5.0 technology. Aiming to take performance to the highest level in gaming, content creation and AI-focused workloads, the product offers read speeds of up to 14,900 MB/s and write speeds of up to 14,000 MB/s. The device also comes with capacity options of up to 8 TB.
Sandisk WD_BLACK SN8100 has been introduced!
The new WD_BLACK SN8100 provides up to 100 percent more power efficiency compared to PCIe Gen 4.0-based models. This efficiency is based on optimized thermal performance with 7W or lower power consumption.

In this way, the product can deliver performance without requiring expensive and noisy cooling systems. Using Sandisk’s BiCS8 TLC 3D NAND technology, the SSD also draws attention in terms of durability. The 4 TB capacity model offers a write life of up to 2,400 TBW.
Operating over the PCIe Gen 5.0 interface, the device offers high-level performance even in the most demanding scenarios for games and heavy workloads with a random access performance of over 2,300,000 IOPS. Sandisk also confirmed that the 2 TB and 4 TB models provide up to two times higher read speeds compared to PCIe Gen 4.0.
In addition to capacity, the WD_BLACK SN8100 also has two different options in terms of cooling. In addition to the standard model, a cooler version will also meet users. Made of anodized aluminum, this version has a low-profile passive cooling solution. The device also features customizable RGB LED lighting support. This contributes to both the system appearance and hardware compatibility.
Sandisk’s new flagship SSD works in full compatibility with Intel’s Core Ultra processors and AMD’s systems that support PCIe Gen 5.0. The device was developed specifically for gamers, content creators and professionals working with artificial intelligence applications who want the highest level of performance.
The bandwidth provided by the PCIe Gen 5.0 interface minimizes data transfer and processing time. The WD_BLACK SN8100 NVMe PCIe Gen 5.0 SSD will be available in Turkey as of June. Details regarding the product’s pricing have not yet been announced.
