Honor has unveiled the design of its upcoming flagship, the Magic 8 Pro, with exclusive images, confirming that the phone will feature a dedicated Artificial Intelligence (AI) button. When the Magic 8 series launches in China next month, it will be one of the first phones to feature Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, unveiled today. Here are the details.
The Honor Magic 8 Pro Will Stand Out with Its Features
Honor’s flagship Magic phones, typically launched in China and then in Europe, are priced above €1,000 (approximately $1,200) and boast powerful chipsets, large batteries, and advanced camera capabilities. The Magic 8 Pro is expected to continue this tradition.

The new Magic 8 Pro is broadly similar to its predecessor, the Magic 7 Pro. Unlike the slightly curved back of the previous model, the new phone has a flat design. The light blue color option also resembles one of last year’s shades. The biggest difference on the phone is an additional button on the side, in addition to the power and volume buttons. Honor confirmed that this is a dedicated AI button, not a camera control, but the exact AI functions it will activate remain unknown. Honor is also announcing a new AI feature called Magic Color, which allows users to change the style of images and videos using the color palette of another selected image.
On the back, there’s a round camera island that appears to have four lenses, but is likely comprised of three cameras and a ToF (Time of Flight) sensor for depth sensing. While camera details aren’t yet fully known, Honor CMO Guo Rui shared a sample photo taken with the 200-megapixel, 85mm-equivalent, f/2.6 camera. These specs suggest a more powerful telephoto lens than the Magic 7 Pro’s 72mm periscope camera.
