WhatsApp is adding a new feature to group chats, making it easier to plan and manage events. With this update, you can now plan activities such as a Sunday picnic, a birthday party, or even a simple meeting in your WhatsApp group chats. Here are the details…
Event planning feature for WhatsApp group chats
Previously limited to communities, the event planning feature is now available for all group chats with the latest Android beta update (2.24.14.9). This feature allows you to create events within any WhatsApp group chat. You can enter details such as the event name, description, date, location (if applicable), and whether a voice or video call is needed. Once the event is created, group members can view and accept the invitation.
For example, if you need to update event details, you can easily do so through the event creation section. Additionally, these events are end-to-end encrypted, meaning only group members can see the event details.
Future updates may include event reminders and cover photos for group chats. The event planning feature is currently available to some users who have installed the latest WhatsApp beta updates from the Google Play Store. More users are expected to gain access to this feature soon.
