Xiaomi has completely bypassed the “16” branding in its flagship lineup, launching directly in China with the Xiaomi 17. The device stands out as the first smartphone powered by Qualcomm’s recently announced high-end Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. Here are the Xiaomi 17 specifications and price.

Weighing 191 grams and boasting a 6.3-inch flat display, the Xiaomi 17 targets users looking for a compact flagship. Its bezels are just 1.18 mm thin, maximizing the screen-to-body ratio. The display uses Xiaomi’s exclusive Dragon Crystal Glass technology for protection and supports peak brightness of up to 3,500 nits. Furthermore, the device boasts high-level dust and water resistance with IP66, IP68, and IP69 certifications.
The Xiaomi 17’s most talked-about feature is its massive 7,000 mAh battery, packed into its compact size. The company claims that thanks to this capacity, the device offers over 12 hours of short-form video playback, outperforming the iPhone 17 even when paired with a 5,000mAh external magnetic charging bank.
The cooling system has also been revamped to ensure sustained performance. The new three-dimensional ring cool pump system is three times more efficient than traditional vapor chambers, aiming to maintain performance during extended gaming sessions or intensive artificial intelligence (AI) tasks.
The device’s rear camera setup features a 1/1.31-inch Light Hunter 950 main sensor. This sensor is accompanied by 50-megapixel ultra-wide and 50-megapixel telephoto cameras. On the front, there’s a high-resolution 50-megapixel sensor for selfies.
While the Xiaomi 17 was introduced alongside the Pro and Pro Max models, this standard model is specifically designed for users seeking flagship power in a lightweight and compact body.
Pre-orders for the Xiaomi 17 have begun in China, and sales will begin at 10:00 AM local time on September 27th. While the device’s global launch date has not yet been officially announced, it is expected to arrive in international markets in early 2026. It will be available in four different color options at launch. Since the Xiaomi 15 series is already on sale in Turkey, the 17 series is expected to follow.
