YouTube also provides services for paid Premium users to try out new features in the testing phase.
The firm explains this service: “Premium members can try out new features that we are working on for a limited time. As a Premium member, you can watch and download videos without ads and do more on videos.”
Pinch to zoom feature is coming for YouTube Premium subscribers
YouTube Premium subscribers get a lot of little extra features like background play and downloaded videos built into the YouTube experience. With the ability to try different new experimental features, Premium users can discover new tools before anyone else.
YouTube, the leader of the video space, has started testing “pinch to zoom” for videos. The firm continues experimental trials. The “Pinch the video player with two fingers to zoom in and out” annotated feature, which could be tested until September 1, allows people to zoom in on videos at 2X level.
The company, which provides zoom support for the desired part of the video, is considering the feature only for mobile for now. As we mentioned before, pinch to zoom will only be available until September 1, giving YouTube Premium users enough time to try the new feature out and leave feedback.
YouTube had come up with another test before that. The increasing number of “Shorts” content within the platform can now appear even more because the company has recently added a feature called “Edit as Short Video” to its iOS and Android application. This feature allows content producers to convert long videos they upload directly from the YouTube application to 60-second Shorts videos.
Selected videos are imported into the Shorts editor, where basic level editing is offered. Different filters and texts can be added to Shorts videos in the editor. By pursuing more short content with this step, YouTube makes a statement for its new feature, “giving fresh life to your classic content”.
