vivo is launching its new Android-based interface, Funtouch OS 14. vivo has added a number of innovations and improvements to the Funtouch OS 14 interface to deliver an enhanced and seamless user experience, building on the benefits offered in the Android 14 release.
The interface comes with significant improvements in memory management, smoothness, multitasking capabilities, personalization, privacy and security, and new video editing tools for greater creativity and flexibility, making it even more enjoyable for users to interact with their devices.
The Vivo X100 series, which includes Vivo's new flagship models, was displayed at 3C. Apparently the X100 series comes with 120W fast charging.
Funtouch OS 14 introduces a range of new personalization options that allow users to express their style. Users can now choose and customize the clock style on the lock screen from eight different font styles and three different clock layouts.
New always-on display styles and a new minimalist theme called “MY color palette” also give users a wide range of color options to choose from. Users can also create a color palette that matches the wallpaper. The feature also optimizes the display for grayscale images, which helps conserve power.
“Smoother user experience with ‘Smooth Envision’
Funtouch OS 14 improves system performance, responsiveness and the ability to keep more applications active at the same time by reducing the number of persistent processes and optimizing RAM usage with the innovative “Smooth Envision” approach that makes the OS experience smoother.
This advanced RAM-saving feature adds up to 600 MB of available RAM space on devices with 8 GB RAM configurations and above, making multitasking a breeze. A new “App Holder” feature ensures that whitelisted apps that are not manually closed are always restored to the last interface. This allows users to easily pick up where they left off.
On select smartphone models, visual smoothness is also achieved thanks to the “Motion Blur” feature, which uses advanced algorithms to simulate motion blur when opening and closing apps on the home screen. This software-driven approach improves the smoothness of displays with a 60 Hz refresh rate by 18.7%, resulting in very smooth visual transitions.
Enhanced multitasking capabilities allow simultaneous multitasking
Funtouch OS 14 takes multitasking to the next level with an improved small window feature. Users can keep up to 12 small windows active in the background and the operating system supports side-scrolling suspension, giving users more control.
When apps are active in the background, they can turn into a small window that can be moved around the screen. Users can easily switch between small window modes with a single tap. The update also offers significant improvements in smoothness, freeing up to 600 MB of space for fast launching of multiple apps with RAM Saver and keeping more apps active in the background with Extended RAM 3.0.
Creativity at its peak with new advanced video editing tools
With the new update, vivo offers photo enthusiasts even better opportunities for productivity. Funtouch OS 14 makes it easier for users to create unique and engaging content without the need for third-party apps, with advanced video editing features and lossless video exports in original quality.
Users can export videos up to 4K resolution at 60 FPS and use 25 new filters for video editing. Funtouch OS 14 also offers an enhanced album browsing and viewing experience, allowing users to adjust video playback speed, loop playback, enjoy full-screen playback or take screenshots.
Users now have peace of mind about their personal information and security
Funtouch OS 14 gives users control over their personal information when sharing their devices. With the new Smart Mirroring feature, users can share their screen without worrying about their personal information being accidentally exposed by opening the notification bar. Users’ private photos are also now protected with an additional password verification step. Funtouch OS 14 will be delivered to vivo smartphone models starting in November.
