Titan Forge Games has announced that Smite 2 will enter open beta the week of January 14th and will be free to play for a week.The game, which has been in alpha testing with a limited number of users on PlayStation 5 since August, will soon be free-to-play for everyone.
Smite 2 goes free on January 14th
Speaking about Smite 2, Lead Designer Jeff Williams expressed the excitement of the team and said that they will offer a much better MOBA experience for both experienced players and beginners. In this context, he stated that they are working on gameplay, new gods and innovative modes.
Starting January 14th, the open beta represents a big step towards launch. However, Titan Forge pointed out that Smite 2 is still in development. The studio will continue to release updates as the community continues to provide feedback.
The game will be released on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch with cross-platform support. There will also be cross progression, so you’ll be able to switch between different platforms with one account.
Hi-Rez has also launched some campaigns to help Smite players transition to the new build. While player progression and purchases will not be transferable, gems from the first game can be used as “Legacy Gems” in Smite 2.
The game’s free beta will be available for download on PC (Steam and Epic Games Store), PS5 and Xbox Series X/S starting January 14th.
