Volkswagen has unveiled its popular crossover model, the 2025 Taos. The updated Taos is characterized by exterior and interior changes and a more powerful turbocharged engine. Volkswagen is also abandoning the DSG transmission.
2025 Volkswagen Taos features
On the exterior, the Taos features a new front design with interconnecting headlights. There are also new options in the color palette. Inside, Volkswagen has chosen to give the dashboard a more premium look with less plastic.
Contrasting colored trim panels and soft door trims also add to the aesthetics of the interior. In terms of technology, the 2025 Taos now comes with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard.
The 8-inch infotainment screen now has an independent design instead of being integrated into the dashboard. Starting with the SE trim level, the climate controls have also become touch-sensitive.
Under the hood, the 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine develops 174 horsepower. That’s an increase of 16 horsepower compared to the previous model. Torque remains unchanged at 184 lb. The all-wheel-drive models are also equipped with an eight-speed automatic transmission. This marks the end of the dual-clutch (DSG) transmission.
Volkswagen said the 2025 Taos will be better in terms of fuel efficiency, but did not share official figures. The price of the revamped Taos will be announced closer to its launch at the end of the year.
